GP Clinics

General Practitioner (GP) Clinics are funded by the Department of Health (DOH) and from Medicare revenue.

At present, we are currently recruiting for a GP.

The clinic is supported by the Practice Nurse and Aboriginal Health Worker (AHW) as required. All clients are seen by the Nurse or AHW prior to seeing the GP unless there are exceptional circumstances. During this time, clients have their observations done, their health chart updated to determine any outstanding activities. This allows the GP more time to spend discussing health issues with the client.

BAHS also contracts Dr Heather Dalgety to work at BAHS each Tuesday, providing a clinic for women, and children under 14 years with a chronic condition. This provides the opportunity for clients to see a female GP if they wish to and ensures pregnant women are seen by an Obstetric GP.
